The film “Wild in the Country” is one of Elvis’s more serious and dramatic. Soon his film career would feature him in more light-hearted fare. Presley’s co-stars in this film include Hope Lange, Tuesday Weld, and Millie Perkins. The story was based on a novel called “The Lost Country” by J. R. Salamanca. The screenplay for “Wild in the Country” was written by well-known playwright Clifford Odets.
